Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what Nutrons collects, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have. Your Nutrons account is shared with NZO, Nutrons' kitchen companion (see Section 5).

1. What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you use email/password authentication, a hashed version of your password. We never store plaintext passwords.

If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic profile information Google shares with us — usually your name, email address, and profile photo if available. We use that information only to authenticate you and maintain your account.

We also collect information you choose to add to Nutrons, such as your display name, age (used to personalise nutrient reference values to the appropriate population group), nutrition reference preferences, search queries, recipe text or photos you submit for analysis, and feedback messages you send through linked feedback channels.

To personalise the service, we also maintain a personalisation record (“memory”) that stores context such as your saved preferences and liked ingredients so results can be tailored to you over time.

When you sign up, we also ask why you're using Nutrons. We use this only in aggregate to understand how people use the service — it isn't used to make any individual decisions about you.

Like most services, we automatically receive limited technical data such as your IP address, page views, feature usage, device and browser information, and session activity so the app can function and we can understand aggregate usage.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create and secure your account
  • Authenticate you, including through Google sign-in
  • Provide search, nutrition, recipe analysis, and other product features
  • Personalise the service based on your saved preferences and age group
  • Understand how people use Nutrons and improve the product
  • Respond to feedback, bug reports, and support requests
  • Monitor abuse and keep the service reliable
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data. We also do not use Google account data for advertising or unrelated purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Nutrons:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, storage, and session management
  • Google — authentication when you choose Sign in with Google and feedback forms
  • Anthropic — AI-assisted query interpretation and content generation
  • Pinecone — semantic search and ingredient matching
  • Vercel — hosting and analytics

These services process data necessary for the relevant feature. They may process data under their own policies and terms, so we encourage you to review those documents as well.

4. Cookies and Session Data

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for sign-in, session management, and security. If you disable them, parts of Nutrons may not work correctly.

We do not use advertising cookies.

5. One Account Across Nutrons and NZO

Nutrons and NZO share a single account, sign-in, and profile. Your account and profile data are linked to the same identity across both services, so activity and preferences may be associated with you in both.

Because there is one account, deleting your account from either service deletes it from both. NZO collects additional information specific to recipes and cooking, including voice input to its cooking assistant — see the NZO privacy policy at nzo.nutrons.ai/privacy.

6. Sharing and Legal Disclosures

We share information with the service providers listed above only as needed to run Nutrons. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

We do not sell your personal data.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You can update some of your account details in Settings, and you can delete your account from the Settings page or by contacting us at nutrons.ai@gmail.com. Deleting your account removes it from both Nutrons and NZO.

If you are located in the UK or EU/EEA, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy law, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at nutrons.ai@gmail.com.

If you are in the UK and believe we have not handled your personal data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

8. Data Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymise the personal data we control within a reasonable period, except where we need to retain certain records for legal, security, backup, or accounting purposes.

Aggregated or anonymised usage data may be retained after account deletion.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this page. Continued use of Nutrons after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
